Your First Visit To
Us
Initial
Consultation:
In the initial consultation, you will be able
to meet with one of our doctors who will take special interest in your
case. Here, we will go over your health history and present complaints
to gain a better understanding of your condition.
Examination:
The purpose of your chiropractic examination is
to see if yours is a chiropractic case. If so, we will tell you. If
not, we will tell you that also. The doctor's job during your
examination is to look for vertebral subluxations, the nerve
interference that interrupts the natural communication of the body's
nervous system, when the small vertebrae of the spine twist or turn
out of place interfering with the body's ability to communicate with
itself. Chiropractors are specially trained in the location,
detection, and correction of vertebral subluxations. We will use this
time to see how your body moves and based upon those findings,
determine if x-rays need to be performed
X-rays:
X-rays enable the doctor to see the condition
of your bones and the positions they are in. The x-rays tell us how
far the bones are out of place, in what direction, and what has to be
done to correct the vertebral subluxation of your spine. They also
allow us to see the age of the subluxations, which may aid the doctor
in communicating with you how long it will take to correct the
problem.
Diagnosis:
Your chiropractor uses the information gained
from your consultation, examination, and x-rays to accurately
determine the vertebral subluxation of your spine. In doing so, we
will be able to accurately begin the reduction and correction of the
vertebral subluxation and the related components of your spine.
The
Adjustments:
To reduce the vertebral subluxation of your
spine, our doctors will perform a specific spinal adjustment to your
subluxated vertebrae to begin the correction process. Based upon the
information gathered in your initial consultation, examination, and
x-rays we tailor make an adjusting plan as to what will work best for
you. With the adjustment, we specifically and gently start to retrain
the vertebrae so it starts to free up the spinal nerve flow allowing
for proper communication in the body to occur. When subluxations are
corrected, the body's normal homeostasis occurs which means better
body function and eventually relief from your symptoms.
New Patient Orientation:
I am sure that you have all been to a doctor
that never took the time to explain things to you. That is not true at
the Fogarty Chiropractic Life Clinic. Here we have specially designed
new patient orientations for the sole purpose of explaining what we do
and how we do it We provide you with information on how to help get
you out of pain, and more important how to keep you well for the rest
of your life. We also use this time to show you normal x-rays in a
group setting and then privately go over your x-rays personally and
encourage you to ask the doctors any further questions about your
case.
Health Talks:
The orientation is always at no charge and we
encourage patients curious about chiropractic care to attend, to see
if chiropractic may be of help to them before they make any
commitment. Our doctors are also available to talk to your civic
organizations or clubs on a variety of health related subjects. Call
the clinic nearest you and inquire on which night the new patient
orientation is given.
